Frequently Asked Questions
How often will I be billed?
Monthly subscribers are charged when they sign up, then on the 1st of each month for 12 total payments.
If you sign up 1-2 days before the first of the month, we will not charge you again on the first, but on the first of the following month.
Example: Sign up on May 30 → next charge is July 1 (you skip June 1).
If you sign up for the annual subscription, you are paying for all twelve months letters in advance for a discounted cost, and you will only be billed the day you sign up.
What ages are these letters for?
Post Tales is created for kids of all ages to enjoy! Children ages 6–12 tend to get the most out of the experience, while younger readers may need a little help with some of the bigger words, making it a great opportunity for shared reading time.
When will I receive my first letter?
After you subscribe, the first letter will be sent within 1-2 business days, via USPS. Following the first letter, all letters will be mailed on the second Monday of each month.
USPS estimates First Class Letters can be expected to arrive within 1-3 business days, for orders within the US. Please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery, as snail mail can be known to take it's time.
For international orders, USPS estimates First Class Letters can be expected to arrive within 6-20 days. Please allow up to 6 weeks for delivery, just in case the postal service decides to take the scenic route.
Where is my tracking number?
We send all Post Tales letters via First Class Mail using a regular stamp, just like pen pals used to do! That means there’s no tracking number, but if you feel your letter may have been lost, please don't hesitate to reach out so we can mail a new one.
I haven't received my letter yet, what should I do?
If your letter hasn’t arrived within two weeks (for U.S. orders) or six weeks (for international orders), please don’t hesitate to contact us at support@talesbypost.com. We’ll be happy to send a replacement your way!

What if I want siblings to each have their own letters each month?
Siblings can absolutely receive their own letters each month! To do so, you'll need to purchase a separate subscription for each child. You can choose between monthly billing or a one-time annual subscription, whatever works best for you. Each subscription allows you to select a start date for the first letter, and you’re welcome to choose different dates for each child.
If subscriptions are started a month or more apart, the letters will arrive in different sequences, with one child slightly ahead in the story. However, if both subscriptions begin at the same time with the same first letter mail date, they will receive identical letters each month, provided they are subscribed to the same story series.
What's included with each letter?
Each letter includes 2–3 special extras designed to make the story experience even more engaging. These may include:
- Themed Recipes inspired by the story
- Illustrated Postcards to collect or send
- Stickers featuring characters or elements from the tale
- Puzzles & Games like riddles, mazes, and word searches
- Craft Instructions for hands-on fun
- Maps & Field Guides to bring the adventure to life
We’re always exploring new and creative ways to make each letter even more immersive, ensuring every mailing is a fun surprise!
What color envelope will my letter come in? Can I request a certain color?
We use a rotating mix of four fun envelope colors—red, blue, green, and yellow. Each month’s letter is tucked into a different one, so it’s a surprise every time!
While we can’t accommodate specific color requests, we do keep track to make sure every subscriber gets a variety over time.
How can I update the address for the letters?

What if my child doesn't like the letter?
If your child doesn’t find the stories as enjoyable as you hoped, we’re happy to refund your first letter and cancel any future orders. Your satisfaction matters to us, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance with your order!
